Bloodwork Services for Pets

A simple diagnostic tool used to test dogs and cats for infections, parasites, and more.

Bloodwork is a diagnostic tool that helps us assess your pet's health status. By taking a sample of your pet's blood, we can analyze and gain information about specific parts of their body or overall health. Our in-house and external labs help us provide accurate diagnoses.

Why does my pet need bloodwork?

Bloodwork provides up-to-date information about their health. This is often a useful preventative measure, allowing us to detect potential health issues early on. In other cases, we'll recommend bloodwork to confirm a specific diagnosis we have in mind or determine the cause of your pet's illness. A few instances where we'll recommend bloodwork include:

  • Parasite infections
  • Allergies
  • Pre-surgery diagnostics
  • Pre-anesthesia testing

How long does it take to get my pet's bloodwork results?

Our clinic has devices that allow us to analyze blood samples and receive results in as little as 10 minutes. We can perform Complete Blood Cell counts (CBCs) and analyze the function of various organs. Having these machines on site allows us to diagnose and treat patients more rapidly and efficiently. We also have a microscope that helps us to look at and analyze various samples. To learn more about bloodwork, please contact us at 905-877-2258.

How do external laboratories support your work?

Our clinic works closely with several external laboratories that offer more options for tests. They also have experts who provide insight on test results and suggestions for the best course of action regarding treatment. We can provide the best care possible by performing specific tests based on your pet's needs or symptoms and getting thorough answers based on the results.
